Salma Amrou is a 2022 Youth Poet Laureate of Southeastern Virginia and the recipient of the 2021 Frank Keegan "Take No Prisoners" Award For News. She is currently an undergraduate student at The College of William & Mary. As an Egyptian-American poet and aspiring novelist, her work explores themes of identity, belonging, and the experiences of the Arab and Muslim diaspora. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Zhagaram Literary, The New Verse News, and The Written Resistance.
