WFR is curated by students of the Writer’s Foundry MFA at St. Joseph’s University in Brooklyn, NY. We publish literary fiction, nonfiction, poetry and visual art that speaks honestly to lived experiences.

Our MFA program is called The Writer’s Foundry, and that’s just what it is: a foundry, not a factory. We think about our journal the same way. The Writer's Foundry Review

Fiction submissions will be considered for the second annual Foundry Prize in Short Fiction, judged by Andrew Martin. The winner will receive $500 in addition to publication.

Poetry submissions will be considered for the second annual Foundry Prize in Poetry, judged by Laura Kolbe. The winner will receive $500 in addition to publication.

All other contributors will be paid a $50 honorarium.

We do accept simultaneous submissions, but please let us know promptly if your piece is accepted elsewhere. We do not accept previously published work.
