The Write Launch is about writing and, by extension, our common humanity. This is our vision. To delve into the Imagination as manifested in the written word and to inspire writers to seek the Creativity that lives within. To bring forth our vision of the Humanities Decade.

The Write Launch has been an idea for some time, originally conceived as the Featured Writers section on bookscover2cover. Then, bookscover2cover published book reviews and original writing, but with the passage of time we determined that the featured writers needed their own site.

Submit to only one category in one submission period.

General call

Submit 1 to 3 pieces of previously unpublished work of visual art, in the mediums of drawing, painting, or photography and include a brief description of each submitted piece.  We want to know what inspired the art, or what story it may have to tell.  

Submit your work as individual high-resolution JPG or PNG files. 

Trapper Markelz (he/him) writes from Arlington, Massachusetts. He is the author of the chapbook Childproof Sky, a Cherry Dress Chapbooks 2023 selection. Trapper Markelz (he/him) was born in Alaska, graduated from The Rochester Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School, and lives in Arlington, MA in the Boston area with his wife Maureen and four children Hannah, Lucy, Jack, and Alice. His work has been published in Baltimore Review, Stillwater Review, Wild Roof Journal, Greensboro Review, and Passengers Journal, among others. Book Bio

Stephanie holds both a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education and an M.A. in English: Literary Study from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga.  During the pursuit of her M.A., her research interests were varied, ranging from tracing the ideas presented in the poetry of Walt Whitman through the music of Bruce Springsteen to Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes, and cocaine addiction.  Stephanie presented a shortened, conference essay, “Self-Administered, Hypodermically, Subcutaneously, or Intravenously: Exploring the Cocaine Addiction of Sherlock Holmes,” at the Tennessee Philological Association Conference in 2010.  She is a 2018 graduate of Queens University of Charlotte and earned an M.F.A. in Creative Writing.  Previous works have been published in The Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine, The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, The Smart Set, and other journals.

Author's Note: I witnessed these events in 1995, while training to be a tour guide for this Anne Frank Exhibit.
