  Pages can get mixed up in the reading process, so to save time, please number each one. Please put your name under the title of your story on the opening page of your manuscript. If we buy your story, we will then ask for an electronic copy. This makes it easier for our Production team when it comes to making up the issue and running the copy onto the page. No formatting Please use double spacing, and don’t include any indents. Once again, this saves oodles of time when we run the copy on the page. All dialogue should be in double quotes.

  The best way to get a sense of our style is to read the magazine regularly. “Friend” readers range in age from about thirty to well over eighty. They like being entertained — and dislike being depressed. They like realistic material, but not so realistic — with sex, violence, drugs, drink, etc — that they are frightened or saddened.
