The Temporal Lobe Literary Journal is a quarterly online journal dedicated to creative nonfiction, nonfiction, and truths of all kind. We accept all forms of nonfiction, including but not limited to: flash nonfiction, memoirs, poetry, and familiar and personal essays. 

Temporal Lobe Literary celebrates the richness of nonfiction and truth in writing. We seek to publish works from every place on the nonfiction spectrum: poetry, essays, memoirs, interviews, and everything in between. We welcome hybrid creative nonfiction works and believe the genre has an underappreciated versatility. Emotionally sincere, vivid writing that yields candor usually has us interested!

THEME | Personal Histories.

Write down a memoir, a flashback, a feeling. Maybe interview someone close to you; sit them down and let them speak. Tell us how yours or someone else’s existence, stories, and moments have been history—something that deserves to be preserved, written down, and remembered. 

How has yours or another’s story been part of something larger in a lifetime? Beyond a lifetime? In the course of many lifetimes? How has this particular piece of the past crept into the present?
