The Serein Lark Review is a digital sanctuary for literary wanderers, weaving nostalgia through whimsical storytelling and magical imagery that captures the beauty of small, fleeting moments.

We wish upon the stars to provide an inclusive literary space for souls that are old but feel young or are young but feel old, to curate a collection of tales that feel like pressed flowers—preserved, delicate, and deeply evocative. Here, magic is found in the stillness of a misty dawn, while fresh linen hangs to dry in the garden, inviting you to wander through a landscape of paper hearts and wildflower dreams.

The Serein Lark Review

We accept only prose in the form of fiction or creative non-fiction. It can be a finished piece as well as the opening to a longer one, such as a novella or novel.<div>

There is never a specific theme, but the piece should fit the overall aesthetics of the Serein Lark Review.</div><div><br></div><div>A submission may be rejected if the content is considered unnecessarily violent or racist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, or sexist, thereby disagreeing with our values. It is still permitted to write about these topics from a sensible perspective.</div>

Creative Non-Fiction

Global warming, oppression, war, capitalism, AI, and fascist dictators, to name a few, are stealing our lives, and I am exhausted by the gloom and doom of media, news, and conversation. Many believe the fight is already lost. Sometimes, a tear will trickle down my cheek, and I wonder if my efforts are worth it anymore.<div><br></div><div>It was always my intention, through the Serein Lark, to provide refuge from the troubles of real life: an escape. The need is great, and I will continue to publish stories that can twirl the reader away. But furthermore, we must tell stories that inspire.</div><div><br></div><div>I never wanted themes as part of the submission criteria. Today, I break my own rules.
