    • Cover letter

Have fun with it! We're super casual when it comes to the cover letters and bios; we just want to know more about you! We don't count cover letters as a requirement towards submissions, either. They're just so we can get more of a feel for who you are, if there's anything you feel like sharing. If not, that's fine, too! We do ask that bios are 50 words or under and tend to prefer ones that aren't solely a list of previous publications.

    • Eligibility

      Other
We welcome all poets and artists to submit their work! We're especially honored to publish the works of marginalized creators and are happy to include work from both emerging and established poets around the world.

    • Formatting

We ask for poetry submissions in Times New Roman 12 pt. font (although preferred, we don't turn down a submission for sending something in Arial 11 pt.) with each poem starting on a new page. Art and photography: we ask you either send a .tiff, .jpeg, or .pdf file for each individual piece of work (i.e., don't put all art pieces in one PDF file, please).

    • Author's rights

Authors published in our magazine retain full rights to their work to do with as they please following publication of the issue they're in. We simply ask for First North American Serial Rights and to be credited as first publication (i.e., "Work first appeared in Last Leaves Magazine, Issue X") in any future magazines, chapbooks, poetry books, etc.
