• Cover letter

  Include a Cover Letter, and brief (no > 50 words) 3rd person bio. Cover Letters sent within the document and/or submissions without a Cover Letter will be automatically discarded. In addition to the relevant details, include a 2-sentence account of what gave you inspiration to write your work(s) in relation to the relevant season and theme(s) for the submission period. If applicable, include your social media usernames, as we promote our writers & artists’ work on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. If you have an upcoming publication/public exhibition/portfolio display that you wish to promote, and/or a relevant website, include a few lines promoting the publication/exhibition/display, and/or a link to your website, at the end of the Cover Letter.

• Formatting

  Submit 1-3 piece(s) in a single document. There are no line designations for poetical works. (Accepted formats: DOC, DOCX, and PDF). Works submitted in separate documents will be automatically discarded. In the HEADER, specifically the top right corner the document, include your NAME, EMAIL, NAME OF PIECE(S) and WORD COUNT(S) (excluding title) in parentheses, in that order. In the FOOTER, specifically the bottom right hand corner of the document, include the page number(s). ALL pieces, including headers, footers and the body of the piece(s) MUST be submitted with 1-inch borders, in TIMES NEW ROMAN, Font Size 12, 1.15 or 1.5 spacing, JUSTIFIED and in Black Text. (Tip: select Ctrl/Command+A to select all body text and alter accordingly). Works submitted in an incorrect format will be automatically discarded. If there are certain specific stylistic/experimental qualities to your work(s) that are meant to be published in their exact manner, please submit your document as a PDF. Translated work(s) MUST be accompanied by the original language the work(s) were written in, the name of the Translator, and a statement of authenticity and consent from the writer and Translator approving that the Translated work(s) can be used for publication. Where the Translator is the writer themselves (in the case where the writer is fluent in their native language and English), please submit the work(s) in English ONLY. Specify whether you use American or British Standard English, and ensure its consistency throughout the work(s). The use of either will not affect your submission, however we are partial to British Standard English, and -yse endings over -yze applicable endings. Pseudonyms are accepted. If you use a pseudonym, please write in the NAME section of your document’s HEADER, [NAME] writing as [PSEUDONYM]. If your work were to be accepted, we will publish your piece under your pseudonym. Excerpts are NOT accepted.

• Author's rights

  INTERWEAVED Magazine requests worldwide First Serial Rights and worldwide First Electronic Rights. This means that once your work is published in INTERWEAVED Magazine, the copyright immediately reverts to you. Additionally, we request that you refrain announcing/implying/indicating the acceptance of your work by INTERWEAVED UNTIL the Issue is published. We also reserve the right to keep your writers and artists’ literary work(s) and art & photography on this website’s archival collection(s), and promote them on social media channels including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. In the event that your literary work(s) or art & photography were to be reprinted at a later date, or appear in an anthology or collection, we request that you give first publication credit to INTERWEAVED Magazine in the acknowledgements.
